MSU Electric Heating Systems for Baseball and Softball Fields

EAST LANSING, MICHIGAN

SCOPE OF WORK

The Midwest’s harsh winters were a challenge for Michigan State University’s baseball and softball teams. Early-season cancellations and more practice indoors made for frustrating conditions for the team and coaching staff. FIELDS was brought in to install electric field heating systems at McLane Baseball Stadium and Secchia Softball Stadium; the first of their kind at any American college. The system, developed by Netherlands-headquartered Heating Solutions International (HSI), allows the grounds staff to prepare the fields for game use in March. Now both teams can practice outside earlier than before, avoid cancellations and become more attractive options for potential recruits.
