FIELDS Builds 2009 Professional Football “Field of the Year”

The Sports Turf Managers Association has named Lambeau Field, home of the Green Bay Packers, the 2009 Field of the Year for professional football. FIELDS was chosen by the Packers organization to perform the total reconstruction of Lambeau Field and completed the project in June 2007 and has since rebuilt the Packers’ training facility field, Nitschke Field, in 2009.

“We were incredibly proud to be awarded this project,” President and CEO of FIELDS Brian Storm said. “We believe the STMA demonstrates that FIELDS is committed to building sports fields of distinction. Going beyond clients’ expectations is an everyday occurrence for us, so this award is a great reminder of what a professional sports field construction firm can accomplish.”

A panel of judges from the STMA evaluated Lambeau Field on several different criteria – playability and appearance of the playing surface, innovative solutions employed, effective use of budget, and the development and implementation of agronomic program. The award was presented in January 2010 at the STMA Conference & Exhibition in Orlando, Florida.
