This full-size baseball / football combination field honors the memory of Eddie Phillips and his love of baseball. The field was designed as a replica of the former Nicollet Park, home of the minor-league Minneapolis Millers from 1896 to 1955. The design of the bleacher pavilion behind the backstop was inspired by the ticket office building at the original ballpark. Several former and current Major League Baseball players attended the dedication.
