The Minnesota Twins and Mortenson selected FIELDS to install the new stadium’s natural grass baseball field, where our team also designed and installed a hydronic heating system. FIELDS selected the sod from a Colorado grower, and installed each sod delivery within 24 hours of harvest using a 30-person crew working 12-hour shifts over four nights. The natural grass surface at Target Field brought outdoor major league baseball back to Minnesota for the first time in 28 years.
