Scope of Work:
The BYU Idaho work consisted of seven simultaneous projects across several miles of campus: a new multi-use complex with two multi-purpose synthetic turf fields and two softball fields; demolition and rebuilding the stadium football field and all track and field events; and installation of new lights on four soccer fields and a baseball field.
The new complex required moving vast amounts of import soils to balance the site and create subgrades for the fields. Basalt rock was blasted to install drain lines. Elevation changes between fields were handled with modular block retaining walls averaging 6′ high. An 18″ high seat wall incorporates the project name into the wall. The site work included parking for over 100 vehicles and extensive concrete pavement. The two soccer fields achieved FIFA 2-Star certification, the highest rating possible for synthetic turf playing surfaces.
