Scope of Work:
FIELDS was responsible for all aspects of replacing a worn grass field with the new youth baseball field: site grading & detention, field excavation, structural fabric, sub-drainage, base course and top course aggregates, laser grading, turf anchor curb, and synthetic turf. FIELDS coordinated the work of its fencing subcontractor in conjunction with the curb installation. The most prominent feature of the outfield is a 24′ high “Green Monster” wall, a scaled-down replica of Fenway Park’s famed feature. Also along the perimeter, the work force installed foul poles, a scoreboard, a brick backstop, and dugouts with team benches. Outside of the field, the crew installed concrete walks and plazas, stairs with railings, asphalt pavement, and sod. Construction occurred during winter weather, and FIELDS built temporary heated work spaces for its concrete and masonry work.
