Scope of Work:
This field at Ripken Experience – Myrtle Beach was built as a replica of Griffith Stadium’s field, the home of the American League’s Washington Senators from 1911 to 1960. The tradition of the US President throwing out the first ceremonial pitch of the baseball season began at Griffith Stadium in 1911 by William Howard Taft.
The replica field construction at Myrtle Beach included excavation, drainage, aggregate layers, FIELDS turf cooling system, synthetic turf and infill, dugouts, foul poles, fencing, backstop, and concrete curbing and pavement. Griffith serves as the championship field during tournaments at The Ripken Experience – Myrtle Beach complex.
