Scope of Work:
This design/build project for an 83-acre site purchased by Franklin Independent School District incorporated the following recreation facilities into its master plan: 2 sod fields for football & soccer, 4 softball fields and 2 baseball fields (all with synthetic turf infields and sod outfields), batting cages, cross-country routes and walking trails, fishing pond, spray park and playgrounds, and a scout camp site. The master plan took advantage of the site’s natural terrain and wooded areas as design opportunities.
Self-performed work by FIELDS crews included clearing, hiking trails, 4 custom-built pedestrian bridges with concrete abutments, 8 sports fields, scoreboards, goalposts and foul poles, masonry site walls and amphitheater, stone weir walls, stone stairways, waterfall at the pond, modular retaining walls, paver patios and concrete flatwork, outdoor classroom, dry creek beds, site-built furniture, boardwalks, the spray park, sod installation, and meadow grass seeding.
Subcontractors were coordinated by FIELDS to perform the following work at Franklin Ranch Community Park: site grading and pond excavation, well drilling, 3 parking lots and drives, storm sewers, 3 pavilions, 3 concessions/restroom buildings with associated utilities, stage structure at amphitheater, septic systems, hog fencing & cedar fencing, athletic field fencing, site electrical and lighting, irrigation, landscape plantings, and playgrounds.
