Daniel’s Field at McCoy Park

INDEPENDENCE, MISSOURI

SCOPE OF WORK

This adaptive baseball field is constructed of rubber-surfaced asphalt to provide total access to baseball for children of all ages and abilities. The project also included field fencing, backstop, foul poles, drainage, concrete pavement and bleachers. At the dedication, the venue was named “Daniel’s Field” in honor of 12-year-old Daniel Oaks, a motivating force in raising funds for the new park. The dedication was attended by members of the Kansas City Royals, the Royals chairman/owner David Glass, the mayor of Independence, and over 1,500 fans.
