Miller Field Renovation

MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN

SCOPE OF WORK

Miller Park boasts the only fan-shaped retractable roof in North America, and is one of the few Major League Baseball parks with retractable roofs and natural grass fields. The convertible roof ensures perfect climate conditions for games, but the total or partial shading from the roof contributed significantly to inconsistent growth in the outfield turf, so the field was scheduled for replacement after the 2008 National League Championship Series.

FIELDS removed the existing turf and organic matter layer, and installed additional USGA growing medium. It then performed specific and detailed laser grading as directed by the Brewers’ groundskeeper. FIELDS completed the project with the installation of the new bluegrass turf grown specifically to suit the needs of this unique venue.
