Franklin Community Park will include youth sports fields, a performing arts amphitheater and outdoor education center for use by the Franklin Independent School District and local community.

Franklin, TX – FIELDS, a sports general contractor creating sports parks of distinction, today announced site plans for a multi-use athletic complex and education center in Franklin, Texas. The Franklin Community Park will provide students from the Franklin Independent School District (ISD) with a unique complex that includes numerous athletic fields for school sporting events and tournaments, as well as access to performing arts facilities and outdoor educational opportunities.

Situated on 84-acres of Texas farmland, the park will feature four replica baseball fields, two softball fields, two football/soccer fields and a cross-country course that will act as the host facilities for Franklin High School athletic events and tournaments. Roland Reynolds Elementary School and Franklin Middle School will also utilize the complex for physical education classes and extracurricular activities.

Other park features include an amphitheater for performing arts series and concerts, as well as an outdoor educational center with classroom lessons in wetland, riparian zone and water conservation, as well as sustainability exhibits. There are multiple recreational activities including batting cages; hiking trails; a fishing pier and lake; forest preserve; playground; and concession areas.

Franklin Community Park will also be open to the public for various community events, as well as local and regional sporting tournaments. FIELDS and Franklin ISD are aiming for an official ribbon cutting and grand opening in the early Fall 2012.
