Another successful year rebuilding fields with Scotts and the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation

For nearly 10 years, FIELDS has worked with the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation and its various partners including Chevrolet, lawn care company Scotts and Major League Baseball (MLB) to build fields for kids in underserved communities. We’ve built more than 30 fields for these partners over the years and are proud of the impact each one of them has had on their respective community. Just this year, through various grant programs including the Scotts Field Refurbishment Program, FIELDS built seven brand new fields for deserving organizations across the country. Scotts created the Scotts Field Refurbishment Program to do just that: provide kids with upgraded baseball and softball fields in deserving communities. To date, the program has refurbished 12 fields for organizations across the United States.

The fields that were installed in 2018 include ones built for: Journey House in Milwaukee, WI; United Way of Central Georgia in Macon, GA; DREAM in Harlem, NY; SpringSpirit in Houston, TX; the City of Tallahassee, FL, and the Boys & Girls Club of Boston. A field was also refurbished in Austin, IN as part of a “fan favorite” contest from Scotts and MLB, beating out competitors in Los Angeles, Kansas City, and Passaic, NJ.
Take a look at the videos below to see how special these new fields are to each organization and their community.
