Our search for new talent is nationwide and involves a combination of college and university recruiting, internships, Internet advertising, involvement in industry trade organizations and word of mouth.

Our nationwide network brings together a staff of key project management and field superintendents sharing common training and procedures. Our ability to quickly mobilize resources from a wide, geographically dispersed staff into a functioning project team gives us the unique ability to take total management of your project immediately.

Brian Storm

President & CEO

Brian serves as President & CEO of Sports Fields Inc., the parent company of FIELDS, FIELDS Maintenance, The Sports Force and Sports Force Parks. He has performed work for the NFL, MLB, MLS and MiLB, as well as many major colleges and universities. He holds a number of patents for field heating and field cooling.

Having been in the design and construction industries for over 30 years, Brian has managed projects from $250,000 to over $25,000,000 and is nationally recognized as an expert in these areas. He is a graduate of Michigan State University.

Fun fact: Brian is an avid car guy. He’s most fond of 1960’s and 1970’s muscle cars.

Mark Stalnaker

Vice President & Secretary

Mark has over 35 years of construction industry experience, making him a true expert in the field. Prior to starting FIELDS with co-founders Brian Storm and Pete Fox, Jr., Mark worked for ValleyCrest Landscape Development as the Southeast Regional Pre-Construction Services Manager.

Currently, Mark serves as head of Estimating and Preconstruction Services for FIELDS and The Sports Force, FIELDS’ sister company of which Mark is also Vice President. This role requires him to assemble project budgets and administer all of the companies’ contracts. As Corporate Secretary & Vice President, Mark’s responsibilities include managing state registrations, licensing, insurance and information technology.

Mark also serves on the Board of Directors and is involved in all aspects of strategic business planning for both FIELDS and The Sports Force. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (Cum Laude) from the University of Georgia.

Fun fact: Mark is an avid college and pro football fan and has been a University of Georgia season ticket holder for 35 years!

Pete Fox

Vice President of Quality Assurance

Pete is a co-founder of FIELDS and in his current role, he manages personnel and oversees all of the company’s equipment. Since starting FIELDS with Brian Storm and Mark Stalnaker, Pete has worked on a wide variety of projects including those for MLB and university clients, and has worked on a total of 15 different NFL fields.

Prior to his association with FIELDS, he served as a Project Manager for ValleyCrest Landscape Development from 1995 to 2005 in the Atlanta branch office. Pete oversaw athletic field construction projects throughout the east coast region and has over 20 years’ heavy equipment operating experience in the construction industry.

 Fun fact: Pete is a proud grandpa of seven, and owns mini horses and donkeys.

Mike Harris

Director of Construction

Mike manages contracts and communications, vendor purchases, scheduling for self-performed and subcontractor work, construction budgets, client communications, submittals, and payment applications. He has overseen many high-profile projects for clients including the Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs, the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation, and many others.

Mike has worked in the industry since 1982. He has a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from Iowa State University.

Fun fact: In 2016, Mike cycled 2,100 miles on his bike.

Rob Ryan, ASLA, PLA

Director of Design

A licensed landscape architect in 23 states, Rob is the Director of Design for The Sports Force. He is responsible for managing the planning and design studio, including interfacing with clients and coordinating with sub-consultants, and regulatory and government agencies. Prior to joining The Sports Force, Rob was a principal and owner of Hughes, Good, O’Leary & Ryan Inc. (HGOR), a landscape architecture and land planning firm in Atlanta. He’s also a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects and the U.S. Green Building Council.

Rob’s design credits for the sports industry can be found all over the United States and include:

  • Sports Force Parks at Cedar Point Sports Center
  • Brigham Young University MLRB Field renovation
  • Detroit Lions Practice Facility
  • Franklin Ranch Community Park
  • Michigan State University – Multiple projects
  • Green Bay Packers Oneida Indoor Training Facility
  • University of Georgia Reed Plaza at Sanford Stadium
  • Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation Projects located across the USA

Rob has also designed corporate headquarters projects for Turner Entertainment, Time Warner Cable, UPS, Lowes, First Citizens and BC/BS of Tennessee. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture from Michigan State University.

Fun fact: Rob loves to travel and enjoys checking out local craft breweries.

Jeff Scott

Operations Manager

Jeff has over 25 years of experience in the construction industry managing projects ranging in size from $500,000 to $15 million. He has worked with Brian Storm, President & CEO of FIELDS for 22 of those 25 years. As Operations Manager, he’s in charge of the logistics of the organization, and is responsible for maintaining the efficiency and high quality across all projects that FIELDS has become known for.

While working as a project manager, Jeff managed many high-profile projects across the country for clients including the Dallas Cowboys, FedEx, the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation the Atlanta Botanical Gardens.

 Fun fact: Jeff loves to fish. He’s even caught a Billfish Grand Slam!

Dan Haubenstricker, ALA, ASLA

Senior Estimator

Dan is a registered landscape architect and a senior estimator with FIELDS. He has spent his entire career in landscape architecture, and his many years of experience have provided him with a thorough understanding of what a successful project looks like from a design perspective. Prior to joining FIELDS, Dan was a landscape architect with Designscapes, Inc.

Dan has been involved with projects both large and small including multi-field park projects such as Franklin Ranch Community Park and The Ripken Experience at Pigeon Forge, as well as individual sports fields for clients such as the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation.

Dan is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects.

Fun fact: Dan plays in a community band that was founded in 1895.
